Rosa Parks Women Of Courage Breakfast

The Rosa Parks Women of Courage Breakfast is held during Women's History month and recognizes women in the Chattahoochee Valley Community, whose lives exemplify the courage and perseverance of Rosa Parks. The foundation members choose categories each year and have thus far honored women of faith, women in areas of law, business and medicine and the list goes on.

Since the breakfast began in 2009, the foundation and the chapter have been able to provide more than $500,000 in scholarships and other support to the community. Perhaps one of the major achievements of the foundation was providing $40,000 in funding to secure Alpha Kappa Alpha Room at the Mildred L. Terry Library - Mrs. Mildred L. Terry for which the the Library was named, was the first African American Library Branch Manager and was also one of the charter members of The Gamma Tau Omega. Also in the library, there sits a beautiful display case filled with  Sorority and chapter memorabilia located adjacent to doors entering the Alpha Kappa Alpha room.
